Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Jacksonville Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 60-19 loss at the hands of New Bern Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Conquerors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 655th, while New Bern Christian Academy are ranked 203rd).

When it comes to explaining why Jacksonville Christian Academy lost, don't look at Pierson Santiago. Despite the final result, he posted nine points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Jacksonville Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for New Bern Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 21 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Jacksonville Christian Academy and New Bern Christian Academy will both be playing Coastal Brigade the next time they take the court. Jacksonville Christian Academy will host Coastal Brigade at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while New Bern Christian Academy will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
