Softball Recap: Amherst County Comes Up Short

Amherst County and Jefferson Forest squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Amherst County had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Lancers have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Amherst County and nudges their season record down to 19-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Jefferson Forest, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-7.

As of now, neither Amherst County nor the Cavaliers have any future games scheduled.
