Volleyball Recap: The Cambridge School Griffins vs. Mountain Empire Redhawks

After flying high against Ocean View Christian last Tuesday, The Cambridge School came back down to earth. The Griffins fell just short of the Mountain Empire Redhawks by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Redhawks this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.

The Cambridge School actually scored more points across those five sets (104-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-18, 14-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Rowan Smith had a dynamite game For Mountain Empire., getting 39 digs and three aces. Those 39 digs gave Smith a new career-high. Elysa Cisneros was another key player, getting 15 digs and four assists.

The Cambridge School has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Mountain Empire, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-7.
