Recap: Plainfield Cardinals vs. Middletown South Eagles
On Thursday, Plainfield came up short against Middletown South and fell 28-18. Plainfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Plainfield's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joel Cordoba, who picked up 155 receiving yards and a touchdown. Kamai Lowery was another key contributor, throwing for 196 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Plainfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Middletown South, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
After both having extra time off, Plainfield and Westfield will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 11:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Middletown South will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Middletown North at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Middletown North is ranked 74th, while Middletown South is ranked 52nd).
