Volleyball Preview: Canutillo Eagles vs. Chapin Huskies        
        
		
             The Canutillo Eagles will take on the Chapin Huskies at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. Canutillo is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
 Canutillo will head out to face Chapin after giving up their first home loss of the season  on Tuesday. Canutillo fell just short of Burges by a score of  3-2.
 Canutillo actually scored more points across those five sets (100-95), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-23, 25-20, 12-25,  15-7.
 The losing side was boosted by   Andrea Guerrero, who  had 11  digs and three  aces. She is  on a roll when it comes to  aces, as she's  now  served two or more in the last four games she's  played dating back to last season.
 Even though they lost, Canutillo  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 14  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least seven  aces in four consecutive  matchups.
 Meanwhile, Chapin didn't have quite enough to beat Jefferson on Tuesday and fell  3-2. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Silver Foxes recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
 Chapin actually scored more points across those five sets (102-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-20, 26-24, 9-25,  15-8.
 Despite the  defeat, Chapin saw an underclassman step up:  Gianna Dominguez  had 24  digs. With that strong performance,  Dominguez is now averaging an impressive 10.3  digs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of  Daisy Urenda, who  had 13  digs and two  aces.
 Canutillo's loss  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 13-19. As for Chapin, their record is now 13-13.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of  Friday's  match:  Canutillo has really dialed in their serving game this season,  having  averaged 6.6  aces per game. However, it's not like Chapin struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7.9. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
 Everything went Canutillo's way against Chapin in their previous meeting  back in October of 2023, as Canutillo made off with  a  3-0 win. Does  Canutillo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chapin turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
