Baseball Game Preview: North Hardin Trojans vs. Holy Cross Cougars

The North Hardin Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Holy Cross Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. North Hardin has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Hardin had taken Larue County down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Trojans lost 12-4 to the Hawks. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly eight runs.

North Hardin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Trujillo, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. The Trojans are 2-1 when Trujillo posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Another was Kaleb Eisenman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Holy Cross was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They came up short against Campbellsville, falling 9-1.

This is the second loss in a row for North Hardin and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Holy Cross, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

North Hardin couldn't quite get it done against Holy Cross when the teams last played back in April of 2016 as they fell 6-2. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
