Basketball Recap: Desert Hills Find Success

Desert Hills won the last time they faced Cedar and things went their way on Friday too. The Thunder secured a 50-45 W over the Reds.

Desert Hills had a senior duo take command as Antene'a Tauaefa made all 7 shots he took racking up 17 points and five boards and Tyson Arthur went 7-for-8 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Arthur has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Cedar lost, don't look at Ty Rowley. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points and four steals. Rowley has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Everett Kelling was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Desert Hills now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Cedar, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Desert Hills will take on Richfield in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunder will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cedar, they are taking a road trip to face off against Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Reds' defense better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 57.7 points per game this season.
