Volleyball Recap: Tracy Falls Despite Big Games from Pilar Zuniga and Gurnaaz Joura

After flying high against West on Tuesday, Tracy came back down to earth. The Bulldogs lost 3-0 to the Lodi Flames on Thursday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Flames earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While Tracy ultimately came up short, they really made Lodi work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 28-26, 25-20.

Gurnaaz Joura and Pilar Zuniga certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Joura had 28 digs, while Zuniga had five aces and three digs. Joura is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Lodi found their leader in freshman Madelyn Ngim, who had 22 digs and two aces.

Tracy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Lodi, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8.

Tracy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Lincoln on the 14th. As for Lodi, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Kimball on the 14th.
