Softball Recap: Black River Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Norwayne, Black River was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the North Olmsted Eagles.

Abbey Kiser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Jenna Dieter was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Mallory Eckert was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Black River's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for North Olmsted, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Black River will take on Monroeville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Olmsted, they will face off against St. Joseph Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
