Football Game Preview: Windham Whippets vs. New London Whalers + Official Tickets

The Windham Whippets will challenge the New London Whalers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Windham is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Windham managed to slip by Ledyard the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Whippets were dealt a 53-13 defeat at the hands of the Colonels on Friday. Whippets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Colonels since Friday.

Despite the loss, Windham got top-tier performance from Kevon Roberts, who rushed for 98 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. Roberts also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making one tackle (1.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, New London had to suffer through a 45-15 loss at the hands of East Lyme.

Windham's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for New London, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Windham strolled past New London in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a score of 42-28. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Whalers' Jack Philistin, who threw for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 37 yards.
