Northfield proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 42) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Vista PEAK Prep Bison 26-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Nighthawks have posted since October 1, 2024.

The critical scores for Northfield came from Caroline Cummings, Julianne Heilner, Ana Baseman, and Aazurei Woahene.

Northfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Heilner picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Northfield's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

When Northfield and Vista PEAK Prep next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Nighthawks will try to stop Chaparral's five-game winning streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Northfield 8.6, the Wolverines 8.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Vista PEAK Prep will challenge Rangeview and their three-game winning streak at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
