Recap: Cholla Chargers vs. Catalina Foothills Falcons
The Cholla Chargers pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-57 to Catalina Foothills. Cholla has struggled against Catalina Foothills recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Cyree Jenkins and Michael Payne certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Jenkins scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Payne scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Payne has scored all season. Joel Servin was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Cholla's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Catalina Foothills, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cholla won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Pueblo is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Catalina Foothills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
