After flying high against East Rutherford last Monday, Polk County came back down to earth. The Wolverines took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brevard Blue Devils on Thursday. Polk County's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Charley Dusenbury and Reeve Carroll scored both of Polk County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Polk County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Brevard, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-2-1.

Polk County didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 4-0 victory against Franklin on the 11th. As for Brevard, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Owen at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
