Baseball Recap: Chalker Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Chalker was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Bristol Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

Zach Pack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Chalker saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Smallsreed, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Smallsreed is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

Chalker now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Bristol, their record is now 3-6.

Coming up, Chalker will square off against Western Reserve at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bristol, they will take on Fuchs Mizrachi at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
