Recap: Kennedy Cougars vs. Pleasant Valley Vikings
The Kennedy Cougars had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 59-48 victory over Pleasant Valley.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kennedy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Lawrence, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Dondre Prothro was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Despite the loss, Pleasant Valley still got an impressive performance from Anthony Sanchez, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Bussey, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
Kennedy has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 5-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Pleasant Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will take on Yuba City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against River Valley at 5:00 p.m. on December 8th. River Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 664th, while Pleasant Valley is ranked 210th).
