Volleyball Recap: Rayne Cook Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Sweet Grass County

Red Lodge proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Sweet Grass County Sheepherders 3-2. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Sheepherders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Red Lodge took Sweet Grass County into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-16, 21-25, 15-25, 25-15, 16-14.

Red Lodge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rayne Cook, who had 19 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Cook has posted over her last six matchups. Another player making a difference was Sidney Frank, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Red Lodge was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive matches.

Red Lodge's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Sweet Grass County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
