Softball Game Preview: Bear Lake Bears vs. Preston Indians

The Bear Lake Bears will head out to square off against the Preston Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bear Lake will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Bear Lake earned a 6-2 victory over American Falls.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Preston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Marsh Valley by a score of 12-7 on Tuesday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Preston got a massive performance out of Brielle Biggs, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs. Biggs is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Averie Madsen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Preston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Bear Lake's record is now 20-4. As for Preston, their record now sits at 20-2.

Bear Lake was able to grind out a solid victory over Preston in their previous meeting on Wednesday, winning 14-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
