Football Recap: Covenant Day Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Covenant Day's offense. They were outmatched by the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors and fell 28-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 38-26 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Sidnee Westbrook Jr. threw for 30 yards on one of eight attempts. R.J. Oakes was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards.

Jaiden McKnight-Quick went supernova For Metrolina Christian Academy., rushing for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. McKnight-Quick was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards.

Covenant Day now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Day will challenge Charlotte Country Day School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Charlotte Latin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
