Preview: Bandys Trojans vs. West Caldwell Warriors

The Bandys Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the West Caldwell Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Bandys is not getting complacent, as they comes into the match much higher ranked than West Caldwell in North Carolina (Bandys is ranked 154th, while West Caldwell is ranked 358th).

After only ten points in their last contest, Bandys made sure to put some points up on the board against Newton-Conover on Friday. Bandys enjoyed a cozy 34-20 victory over Newton-Conover. Bandys pushed the score to 31-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Newton-Conover cut but never quite recovered from.

Bandys' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ian Moore, who rushed for 187 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Elliot Spicer and his 136 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Bandys' victory.

Bandys' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Scotty Miley and his two sacks.

Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to West Caldwell, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They were dealt a 54-14 loss at the hands of West Lincoln on Friday. West Caldwell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.

Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Elan Lipford, who threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavion Dula, who picked up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Bandys' victory lifted them to 5-3 while West Caldwell's defeat dropped them down to 0-8.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday' match: Bandys has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 180.6 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for West Caldwell, though, as they've been averaging only 67.2 per game. How will West Caldwell fare against such a dominant running game?

Bandys beat West Caldwell 35-28 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bandys since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
