Football Game Preview: Providence Academy vs. Donelson Christian Academy Wildcats + Official Tickets

Providence Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Donelson Christian Academy Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Friday, Providence Academy took their game with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over Zion Christian Academy. With Providence Academy ahead 35-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Providence Academy's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Ford Bowman with three. Providence Academy is 4-2 when Bowman posts one or more sacks, but 0-3 otherwise. Cole Blanton got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Providence Academy, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Braden Miller, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Donelson Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Ezell-Harding Christian 45-15 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Providence Academy better keep an eye on King Gardner. He was instrumental in Donelson Christian Academy's win, rushing for 161 yards and three scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Gardner has posted since back in October of 2024.

Donelson Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 355 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Donelson Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.3 points on average over those games. As for Providence Academy, their record is now 4-5.
