Basketball Recap: Jamail Garland's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Antonian Prep over TMI-Episcopal

Antonian Prep has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against the TMI-Episcopal Panthers on Tuesday, falling 86-65. That's two games in a row now that the Apaches have lost by exactly 21 points.

Antonian Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jamail Garland, who went 11 for 17 on his way to 29 points. The game was Garland's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Amare Guerra was another key player, putting up 17 points along with eight assists and four steals.

Even though they lost, Antonian Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Antonian Prep's loss dropped their record down to 30-6. As for TMI-Episcopal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

Looking ahead, Antonian Prep will welcome Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. TMI-Episcopal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
