The Wells Leopards will square off against the Round Mountain Knights at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wells is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
Wells is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Pyramid Lake 10-3. The Leopards might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Khloe DelRio made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Wells got a massive performance out of Adriana Aguilar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Aguilar has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Jitzel Rivas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Wells always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pyramid Lake only posted an OBP of .379.
Pahranagat Valley hit Round Mountain with a eight-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights lost 15-5 to the Panthers. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.
Round Mountain saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samarah Swafford, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Swafford has launched this season. Another was Laycii Thibodeaux, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Wells has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Round Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
Wells skirted past Round Mountain 6-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Leopards repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
