Soccer Game Preview: Freedom vs. Centennial

The Freedom Patriots will venture away from home to face off against the Centennial Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Freedom is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Lake Nona onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Centennial came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged the Cobras out 2-1. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Cobras are ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Juan Horacio and Julian Garcia scored both of Centennial's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Centennial has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those seven matchups. As for Freedom, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6-2.
