Softball Game Preview: Amador Valley Dons vs. Heritage Patriots

The Amador Valley Dons will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Heritage Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Amador Valley is leaving town to face Heritage after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Amador Valley fell just short of Tracy by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Dons' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Amador Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Davis, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. What's more, Davis posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Mai Falcone was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Heritage had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 5-0 to California.

Everything went Amador Valley's way against Heritage in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Amador Valley made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Amador Valley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
