Basketball Recap: Monarch Comes Up Short

Monarch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by just one point.

Despite the loss, Monarch still got an impressive performance from Nikyle Campbell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Campbell a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Gavin Slade, who posted three points and five steals.

Monarch's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Pompano Beach, with the victory, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-11.

Monarch will welcome Spanish River at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pompano Beach, they will challenge Braddock at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
