Basketball Game Recap: Santa Clara Saints vs. Bishop Diego Cardinals

Bishop Diego came into Wednesday's game looking for another win against Santa Clara, but Jj Ward wouldn't allow it. The Santa Clara Saints skirted past the Bishop Diego Cardinals 52-49 thanks in part to Ward, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Perez Jr, who posted seven points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rebounds (four).

Santa Clara's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-20. As for Bishop Diego, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.

Santa Clara has already played their next game, a 92-65 loss against St. Bonaventure on the 31st. Bishop Diego does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
