Recap: Del Oro Golden Eagles vs. Chico Panthers
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to post 13 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Del Oro Golden Eagles proved on Thursday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 84-43 victory over Chico. With Del Oro ahead 47-23 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Del Oro can attribute much of their success to Caden Pinnick, who almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Another player making a difference was Luke Galer, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Chico still got an impressive performance from Costantino Thompson, who scored 6 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Del Oro and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Chico, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Del Oro is on the road again on Friday and play against Monte Vista at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Chico, they will square off against River Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. River Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 487th, while Chico is ranked 43rd).
