Baseball Recap: Vidor Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Vidor was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell 5-2 to the Lumberton Raiders. Pirates fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Raiders since on Tuesday.

Vidor got a good showing from Alex Bryant, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Bryant has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Vidor saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Rains, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Vidor's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Lumberton, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-7-1.

While Vidor had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
