After losing to Kankakee Trinity Academy the last time they met, HomeSchool Resource Center decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Patriots won by a set and slipped past Kankakee Trinity Academy 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (69-63) HomeSchool Resource Center actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-21, 25-23.

Ben Torres paced HomeSchool Resource Center's offense, picking up 12 kills. Torres got some help from Nick Dettlaff and his 18 assists. Torres was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

HomeSchool Resource Center's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Kankakee Trinity Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, HomeSchool Resource Center will face off against Benton HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kankakee Trinity Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bradley-Bourbonnais at 5:00 p.m. on the 24th.
