Basketball Recap: Wenonah Snags 13th Win in Last 14 Games

Wenonah won against Northside two weeks ago with 52 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Wenonah Dragons were the clear victor by a 52-29 margin over the Fultondale Wildcats. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Samarian Franklin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 23 points, ten assists, and 11 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Wenonah's points. Another player making a difference was Aariyanah Parker, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Wenonah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive contests.

Wenonah is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. As for Fultondale, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wenonah will welcome John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wenonah is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season. Fultondale has already played their next matchup (against Jasper), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
