Baseball Recap: St. Patrick-St. Vincent Takes a Loss

St. Patrick-St. Vincent fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Branson on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulls by a score of 3-2.

Dominic Petersen spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, St. Patrick-St. Vincent saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bo Smith, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Smith has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Branson, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bethel at 4:00 p.m. on April 2. As for Branson, they will take on Archie Williams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Archie Williams will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
