Baseball Recap: Burrillville Has No Trouble Against Ponaganset

Burrillville came out on top against Ponaganset on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Broncos blew past the Chieftains 8-0. Considering the Broncos have won four games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cam Laramee made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Burrillville let Jordan Furtado and AJ Escalera run wild. Furtado went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Escalera went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Furtado has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Laplume, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Burrillville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Burrillville's record now sits at 7-4. As for Ponaganset, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
