Olmsted Falls is 8-2 against Avon Lake since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Shoremen at 5:15 p.m. Olmsted Falls will be strutting in after a victory while Avon Lake will be coming in after a defeat.
Olmsted Falls took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over Highland.

MOLLY SHEEHAN was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on BROOKE LARGENT, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was HAILEY KLAMUT, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Olmsted Falls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Avon Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Steele, falling 10-2.
Olivia Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Webster, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Olmsted Falls' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Avon Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
Avon Lake's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Olmsted Falls has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Avon Lake, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Olmsted Falls keep running through batters, or will the Shoremen buck the trend?
Olmsted Falls couldn't quite get it done against Avon Lake in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 14-11. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
