Softball Recap: Bartlett Takes a Loss

Bartlett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Douglas Tigers. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 5-2 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dakota Vaudreuil spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Makayla Chauvin was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Taryn Gerber, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Bartlett's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Douglas, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Bartlett will challenge Northbridge at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Douglas, they will take on Hopedale at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
