Baseball Game Preview: Harding Prep vs. Seminole Chieftains

For the second straight game, Harding Prep will face off against Seminole. Harding Prep will be playing at home against Seminole at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harding Prep has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Seminole will come in with five straight wins.

Harding Prep fell victim to Seminole and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Chieftains, falling 8-0.

For Seminole's part, Landon Bowling made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Seminole is 2-1 when Bowling posts eight or more strikeouts, but 4-11 otherwise. Bowling was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Leo Zapata was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Donavin Garfield was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Seminole pushed their record up to 6-12 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Harding Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
