Volleyball Recap: Charlestown Takes a Loss

Charlestown lost against Madison back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pirates lost 3-0 to the Cubs. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Charlestown was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Madison's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-14, 25-22.

Adi Burchel paced Charlestown's offense, picking up six kills. Burchel really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with nine. Harper Gray controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Charlestown's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Madison, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Charlestown is taking a road trip to square off against Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against New Washington on the 30th.
