Softball Recap: Riverside University/Meir Wins Going Away Against Milwaukee Hamilton

Riverside University/Meir never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Milwaukee Hamilton Wildcats with a sharp 21-0 victory. That looming 21-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Riverside University/Meir yet this season.

Laila Duncan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Duncan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Izzy Alvarado was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Gray, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Riverside University/Meir was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Riverside University/Meir is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Milwaukee Hamilton, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
