Basketball Game Preview: Palmyra Panthers vs. Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Titans

The Palmyra Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmyra has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 21.

Last Friday, Palmyra lost to Nebraska City at home by a 57-40 margin. The Panthers were down 45-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Palmyra's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Harrison Boyte, who posted 14 points and six steals, and Conner Petersen, who put up nine points. The dominant performance gave Boyte a new career-high in steals. John Hippen also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 84-41 defeat at the hands of Johnson-Brock. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-20.

Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Palmyra, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.

Palmyra took their victory against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 64-43. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer's Hunter Bohling, who went 8-for-10 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds.
