Football Recap: Juab Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Juab won the last time they faced South Summit, and Jaden Heap did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wasps came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 29-21 on Friday thanks in part to Heap, who picked up 74 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 43 yards. He didn't just play on offense: he also made seven total tackles and defended two passes.

Juab's defense made their presence known, laying out Ian Mair. five times. South Summit's QB won't forget Wyatt Downard anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Downard has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last four times he's played. Ace Gardner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why South Summit lost, don't look at Blake Osguthorpe. Despite the final result, he picked up 75 receiving yards and two scores. Osguthorpe was even better on defense, forcing one fumble, making eight total tackles, and defending two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions.

The win was the third in a row for Juab, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 35.7 points this season. As for South Summit, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juab will square off against Manti at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Wasps' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for South Summit, they will head out to take on Ben Lomond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
