Fuquay - Varina's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Smithfield-Selma Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Fuquay - Varina was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-14, 25-14.

Fuquay - Varina found their leader in sophomore Sydney Carroll, who had ten digs and three aces.
