Softball Game Preview: La Jolla Country Day Torreys vs. St. Joseph Academy Crusaders

The La Jolla Country Day Torreys are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Joseph Academy Crusaders at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

La Jolla Country Day is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 20 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Coastal Academy on Thursday. They lost 14-2 to the Stingrays. The Torreys haven't had much luck with the Stingrays recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Isa Tucker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch back in April as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Classical Academy, falling 26-6.

La Jolla Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything went La Jolla Country Day's way against St. Joseph Academy in their previous matchup back in April, as La Jolla Country Day made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Torreys since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
