Baseball Recap: Seven Straight Road Victories for South Anchorage

South Anchorage won the last time they faced Kodiak and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wolverines came out on top against the Bears by a score of 10-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Carson Lake looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Chase Mascelli was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Jack Zuspan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

South Anchorage's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Kodiak, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Anchorage will welcome Colony at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Kodiak, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wasilla at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
