Basketball Game Preview: McKenzie Eagles vs. Mapleton Sailors

McKenzie is 1-9 against Mapleton since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The McKenzie Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mapleton Sailors at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

McKenzie is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Triangle Lake.

Meanwhile, Mapleton waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They beat Crow/City First Christian Academy by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 55-23.

Mapleton pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games. As for McKenzie, their loss dropped their record down to 5-19.
