Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Raiders vs. Midland Trail Patriots

The Liberty Raiders will head out to face off against the Midland Trail Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Saturday, Liberty was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-44 to Greater Beckley Christian.

Meanwhile, Midland Trail came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 59-47 win over the Falcons.

Midland Trail has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Liberty, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Liberty was taken down by Midland Trail 60-29 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
