Averi Westbay leads a balanced attack to beat Grosse Ile

Recap: Riverview Pirates vs. Grosse Ile Red Devils

The Riverview Pirates won the last time they faced the Grosse Ile Red Devils, and things went their way on Monday too. Riverview skirted past Grosse Ile 45-43. Given Riverview's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Grosse Ile is ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Riverview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Averi Westbay led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Westbay has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Poe, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
