Basketball Recap: Akira Hori's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kankakee Trinity Academy over Heritage Christian

Kankakee Trinity Academy lost against Heritage Christian back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Kankakee Trinity Academy took a hard 73-54 fall against the Heritage Christian Defenders.

Kankakee Trinity Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Akira Hori, who posted 15 points and three steals. Hori has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Vinny Hendrix was another key player, putting up 18 points and eight rebounds.

Heritage Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alex Ophoff, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave Ophoff a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Regnerus, who put up 14 points and seven boards.

Kankakee Trinity Academy's loss dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Heritage Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-8.

As of now, neither Kankakee Trinity Academy nor Heritage Christian have any future games scheduled.
