Baseball Recap: Sierra Pacific Takes a Loss

Sierra Pacific and Highland squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sierra Pacific had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Scots by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Golden Bears have suffered since March 12, 2024.

Sierra Pacific saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Koelewyn, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Sierra Pacific and nudges their season record down to 18-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Highland, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-13.

Sierra Pacific does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-3 defeat against Sanger on the 21st.
