Softball Recap: Leeds Sets Scoring Season-High Against Briarwood Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leeds). They blew past the Briarwood Christian Lions 14-4 on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Greenwave as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Lindsey Hernandez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-low in earned runs.

At the plate, Selah Larson was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Indya Rogers was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Leeds' win bumped their record up to 3-10-1. As for Briarwood Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Leeds will be playing in front of their home fans against Carver Birmingham at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Briarwood Christian, they will square off against Central at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
