Baseball Recap: Benson Bobcats vs. Bisbee Pumas

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Benson walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Bisbee Pumas on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Pumas two weeks ago, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Dawson Judd made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kellen Deskins was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Easton Adams was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Benson and bumps their season record up to 15-13-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Bisbee, their defeat ended a 21-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 24-4.

Benson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-5 loss against Tombstone on the 16th. Bisbee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
