Basketball Recap: University Continues Home Dominance on Friday

University's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Animo Venice Pirates by a score of 48-38. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but the Wildcats were the better team in the second half.

Among those leading the charge was Syrus Azarbarzin, who went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Hansen, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

University's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Animo Venice, they moved to 7-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University has already played their next match (against Venice), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Animo Venice will take on Burton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
